We all intuitively know that community is important. Most of us want a community that we resonate with, that supports us, and that we can serve in some way. Community helps us feel whole, like we belong and have a purpose. It provides a container for our struggles, growth and expression. But over the last century or so, communities have been disintegrating and are harder to find. It can feel pretty isolated and lonely!
Take heart—we were never meant to do it alone on this planet! Or even in this universe. As Spirit-in-a-body humans, we are on the road to self-correcting this brief glitch on our path back to Source.
Long ago, when we agreed to play in the illusion of duality, of separation from the Oneness of Source, “we” did it because of the urge to experience Love as a verb! Source IS Love, but I can’t share it with you if we are all One. For Love to be a verb, there has to be Other. So we tumbled like a pile of puppies lovingly licking each other into a community of Spirit Beings, off to learn about loving the Other in all its forms so we can go back Home with the very best story ever and the communal experience of what Love is all about!
Community is the essence of what we are in our expression of Spirit on this planet. Not just human beings but all sentient beings. Life (with a capital L) is the core of all communities. Around the world, people are coming together in wonderful, spontaneous, purposeful communities in service to Earth, Mother Nature, all our relations, and each Other. Yes, there are those beloved Others playing out the destructive and oppressive aspects of Love, but hating them is like hating the lap lane at the pool or that darned elliptical machine at the gym. This is our big lesson: to not forget that we are One and that we do not have to have something to push back against! Human nature is always better when we have a cause greater than ourselves to serve, and Life is in the eye of the hurricane these days!
At Psychic Horizons Center, we invite all of you to come together to educate, inspire and support each other as we create community and be the change we want in the world and our lives. Most Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 (check our calendar) we are sponsoring presenters to offer their expertise in wellness, personal growth, metaphysics, social business, leadership, communication, the environment, activism and more. These classes are free and open to everyone! As Ram Das says, “We’re all just walking each other home!”
