I’m finding it a little unusual how many synchronicities there are going on around me. They seem to validate parts of life or, maybe it’s just a wink from the Universe, a spiritual hello. Pay attention, I hear you!
The other day my daughter brought up our fun outings to the Cherry Creek mall, and as we’re talking I see the car in front of me has a ‘Zara’ Motors sticker on it. There’s a Zara store at the mall that she likes. Out for a walk and really chewing on a problem that I don’t know how to solve, I look down and see a perfect heart-shaped rock right in the middle of the trail. I know exactly where it was but I’ve never seen that rock again. Mocking up more money, there’s a $10 dollar bill lying in the street one day and, a couple days later, I find $20 bills bouncing around in the dryer. Is that the kind of money I have in mind? No, ma’am – but it is a sign that something is listening. Maybe it’s also encouragement to think bigger.
Playing around with financial abundance, I imagine a gold sun full of money above my head, with a tap attached to it. I turn on the tap when the flow is sluggish. Private readings start to come in, or we get an insurance refund in the mail, or the Colorado stimulus checks arrive. Last week, my husband got a raise he didn’t expect. One week in August, we learned my parents were giving us a chunk of tax-free cash to share their abundance.
I walked into the airport in August and thought, if someone needs help, send them to me. I promptly met a Chinese man at the baggage check who spoke very little English and wasn’t sure what to do. I entertained him with the few words of Mandarin that I know and he was astonished when my daughter arrived at the airport an hour later—I am white; she is Chinese. We checked his bags and the three of us got on the plane to New York City. Using some hand signals and simple words, our new friend suggested we get a lift into the city with his cousin, who also spoke no english. I looked at my daughter and said, “Are we really getting in an unmarked van with two strangers we can’t talk to?” She looked confused because she’s only 18, then her face cleared. “Sure!” she said. Our new friend was delighted and off we went with him and the cousin, who chewed gum at a furious rate and refused my offer of money.
My husband called to say he’d found inexpensive tickets to Portugal and wasn’t it time we took a vacation? I am not historically a spontaneous person so, deeply uncomfortable, I pushed myself to say yes and I hung up. Immediately I thought, ‘no! We can’t do that!” I had 10 perfectly good reasons why not and I got to work on them. Seconds later, I pulled up to a stop light and looked up to see a semi-trailer parked on a hill across the street. Painted on the side in big letters it said, “Go Portugal.”
This is happening more and more: I ask the grocery store clerk where I can find ginger, then I notice him pulling it out of a box. I walk up and down the aisles looking for coconut milk and when I ask the clerk it’s directly behind her. One day it occurred to me we needed hot sauce. I turned a corner and it was right there, all by itself on a separate display. Food is throwing itself at me.
Are you noticing more synchronicity in your life? What’s it about? I have a theory: we are being shown, a little more forcefully, that we are creators. We don’t work alone; something hears us and sees us and it wants to help. The veils are thinning, and they are thinnest in the autumn. So it’s a great time to be aware of our ability to manifest, to remember we are loved and supported in all our endeavors and to watch for the signs. I feel like this is such a major theme right now; I write about it all the time. But it occurs to me that the more chaotic the outer world gets and the more uncertain our world, the more important it is to step into our ability to create our reality. I’m sure I’ll be writing about it a lot more.
