Have you ever wondered why you’re here? I mean, on earth? In a human body?
It’s the eternal question for a lot of people. I recently taught Soul Purpose class to my clairvoyants; it’s one of my favorites. This class is relevant all the time, every day, because your purpose can change and it can deepen as you discover different qualities that it embodies.
Often we’re busy clearing out energies that don’t serve us, so in effect you could say we’re looking at what isn’t working. With soul purpose, it’s about what does work, what’s already right about us; the high vibrating qualities that we’re developing as a soul.
You don’t have to be a clairvoyant to discover your soul purpose, it’s just a matter of looking at aspects of your life that are the most meaningful to you. In class, we clear energies that prevent us from connecting fully to those aspects. But anyone can benefit from more clarity about who they are and how they want to engage with the world.
We started out with a list of 5 things that the students are good at. One student said she’s not good at anything but you can be good at taking out the trash or eating a pizza! I said, you’re a mom; you’re doing something right! Give yourself room to look at the obvious or silly things and it’s guaranteed something interesting is going to come up. If you talk to someone for longer than 20 minutes you’re bound to find out they love to polka, or they’ve saved the ticket stub from every movie they’ve ever attended. Everyone has a story, often it’s quirky or unexpected, and it’s probably unique to their evolution as a spirit. By the way, can I suggest that every person is good at being alive? It’s the one thing we all share in common.
Once they’d catalogued a few skills, students went on to a list of 5 things they enjoy doing. Of course, these two lists can be very closely associated with each other. On the other hand, you can be terrible at doing something but passionate about doing it. Okay, now we know you’re determined! Give yourself extra credit; you’re good at continuing to love the doing of that thing.
Now they had two lists. They were asked to create a third list of the 5 things that they think the world needs the most. Together, the three lists start to show you who you are as a spirit.
Have at it! You might be surprised at what you’re good at or what you enjoy that you never really thought about; sometimes they’re things you have taken for granted because they were always part of your life.
The next step is, what’s the common thread that runs through the three lists? Maybe you love to train chihuahuas, you dabble in stand-up comedy and you think the world needs more laughter. Your common thread might have something to do with sharing amusement. One student said confidently that she already knows her soul purpose. I encouraged her to do the exercises, with curiosity, and see if anything changed. She was surprised to discover a common thread of freedom running through her lists. Freedom to be who she is and do what she wants, and a wish that others could have that for themselves. That kind of discovery can greatly shift the way we see our soul purpose.
These exercises aren’t necessarily about what you do in the world, although they could be a reflection of your work or your avocation, but more about who you are and how you hold that space for the rest of us as you go through your life.
There was a lot more, but this is a great place to start. If you have energy tools, you can set to work putting your three lists in a bubble and start to move energy. Move out other people’s expectations, competition, resistance – the usual suspects. Clearing whatever isn’t neutral, that isn’t “you” at your highest vibration. Look at your havingness for your soul purpose with a gauge; ground it, increase it to 100% and blow it up! Fill in that bubble with a gold sun of permission, amusement and ease, then let it go to be fulfilled.
For those of you without energy tools, I know a great school! But seriously, you can just ask the Supreme Being to clear out the bubble for you so it’s sparkling clean and beautiful. Ask them to give it a blessing. Then let the Supreme Being have it so it can be fulfilled in your life and brought back to you.
The exercises are simple and so powerful. Play around with them and see what you learn. You might be surprised!
Blessings,
Katie
