Hasn’t life been intense for a while now? There’s a good reason for it! Pluto, the sign of both personal and collective transformation, is just finishing its 15-year transit through Capricorn.
Planets don’t actually cause things to happen; rather, they inform us of the energies we are likely to experience, personally and/or collectively, during any given time period. We get to decide what to do with the energy.
Pluto was recently demoted by scientists to a dwarf planet, yet it remains arguably the most powerful planet in astrology. Sometimes called the transformer, Pluto insists on integrity and can be counted on to force the end of weak and outdated structures. Those structures vary according to the astrological sign that it’s traveling through. Since 2008, Pluto in Capricorn has been exposing weak structures around finance, employment and power. Financial markets have been rocking and rolling ever since. The pandemic has forced us to notice and consider: who actually holds up our collective infrastructure? What are they worth and how do we treat them? Corporate layoffs have become commonplace. Power structures are crumbling in every sector and marginalized groups are rising up to challenge centuries-old, toxic thinking about who gets access to resources and who is worthy of recognition and favor.
On Thursday, March 23, Pluto lumbered out of Capricorn and into Aquarius for the first time in 248 years. The planet will return to Capricorn two more times, making sure we get the point, before it fully commits to Aquarius from fall of 2024 to the spring of 2043. In the meantime, Aquarius-related energy will be coming through in waves in the next year and a half.
What might we expect to experience during Pluto in Aquarius? To start with, Aquarius is the sign of the humanitarian! The welfare of all people will come more into the spotlight. Aquarius also rules civil rights and technology. We should expect to see more attention paid to who matters and who says so, anyway, as power structures continue to fall and marginalized populations become more insistent about their right to be recognized and respected. We will see the pace of technology and innovation speed up considerably. Great advances will be made, and we’ll probably also enjoy plenty of opportunities to decide how much technology is enough.
It seems we will visit themes around the value and care of animal and plant kingdoms and the planet herself, as we start to wake up to the importance of all forms of life. We may experience the emergence of bottom-up governance, as we the people begin to reject the power of a few over the many and start to assume collective responsibility for the care and feeding of ourselves and each other.
Revolution will continue to be a theme for the next 20 years.
In addition, Saturn is in Pisces for the next three years, which means people will begin to ask deeper questions about who am I, and why am I here? Likely we will see a surge of interest in all things intuitive and spiritual, as people reach out for greater support and understanding that they are spirits in bodies and that everything is energy.
It’s a tremendously exciting time! As always, it will be up to us as a collective to decide how to interact with the energy of this new evolutionary cycle. In the meantime, use your tools! Keep meditating! As we heal ourselves, the energy reverberates out and gives thousands of others permission to heal themselves. We’re all needed at this time, so have at it. And if you don’t have energy tools, we can help you! It’s what we do every day at Psychic Horizons.
