In the early days of my psychic practice I had a middle-aged readee who lived with their parents, at the same time finding Mom and Dad to be a constant source of pressure and invalidation. Money was this person’s biggest issue, but lack was like a stream flowing through every part of their life.
Their parents had offered them money, which seemed like a potential solution to the conundrum of feeling that one was literally forced to live with their tormentors.
The amount of money was significant. Mom insisted it was a gift, no strings attached. The readee told me, “I won’t take it; that money’s dirty.” Perhaps, but just for fun, I looked at the money energetically and saw that it was completely neutral. If it were a person it would have been humming and gently wagging its head in time to the tune as it gazed up into the sky. When I asked the money if it had an agenda, it looked at my client and then at their mother, then it shrugged. Then it went right back to humming, eyes on the heavens. I understood it was just waiting for instructions.
I started thinking about the concept of money being good or bad. Soon after, a friend came into an inheritance and she asked me to help her with her next step. We looked at her newly acquired wealth and asked to see the energy. This time the response was a little different; this money had been invested in various high-risk market sectors and also in art and real estate. The money seemed a little bossy and had some pride in its accomplishments, which were considerable. But we soon realized it wasn’t the money that was bossy and prideful, we were picking up on the energy of the dearly departed, a fiercely intelligent woman in her 70’s with decades of investment experience and no shortage of opinions about how to manage money. Her descendant and I released the loved one’s energy from the picture and took another look. There was the money, neutral and waiting for instructions.
A financial coach told me long ago that many people have unconscious limits around money. I learned that it’s common for lottery winners, for example, to spend their way down to the amount of money they had before the win. My friend was determined to avoid that outcome so we literally asked the money, what would you like to do next, that would help you to grow?
We proposed precious metals, real estate, annuities, art and foreign currencies. We found that the money appeared to gravitate toward real estate. My friend went on to take classes with a real estate investment coach and discovered she loved the process of acquiring commercial real estate. Eventually she was able to leave her job and focus on that.
Some people feel money is only good when it’s earned. They prefer to be “self-made”, while others strongly value money passed down through generations. I once read an article in the Denver Post about a gathering of multi-million-dollar lottery winners at a conference in Colorado. The majority consensus was that it was the worst thing that ever happened to them! We are only as free around money as our energy will allow. Usually when money isn’t flowing, or when we have strong opinions about money’s role in our lives, it’s someone else’s energy that’s in the way. The good news is, we can clear those foreign energies out and reclaim the flow! Knowing this nudges open the door to a more welcoming field of potential and opportunity, doesn’t it?
The first step is awareness: having permission to believe that money is neutral and we can access the flow. No one is taking money away from us, no one else has to go without so we can have more, and maybe, most importantly, we learn we can be both spiritual and abundant. We can have permission to bring money in, in creative and unexpected ways.
Think about this: if you’re reading this you’ve had a lot of lifetimes! Dozens, hundreds, who knows? Challenges around money may have been a recurring theme. When we start to clear our money space, we become more neutral and our relationship to money becomes more authentic. We’re more at ease with it. We trust that it flows in when we need it and out when we need to spend it. We start to recognize how we’ve been influenced by other people’s ideas and opinions. We begin to have more freedom around financial abundance.
If you have energy tools, you know what to do. If you don’t, we can teach you the tools and help you identify and clear energies around money – and other aspects of life – that aren’t supportive and helpful. We have ongoing cycles of classes for beginners and advanced students both, that run throughout the year. We’d love to meet you and teach you what we know!
Blessings,
Katie
