All right team, this week is Mock-Up class, as promised.
What is a mock-up? In the same vein as creative visualization, making intentions and vision boards, it’s a way to create one’s world by energetically influencing our experiences and even bringing physical things into manifestation. In other words, want a new job? Mock it up! A new couch? Mock it up! A fun and easy family gathering or a successful class? Yes, you can mock all of that up.
For those of you that have taken our classes, there are some things you already know in this lesson that won’t be so familiar to our more casual readers, so I’m going to make the instructions really basic.
To begin, imagine you’ve got a connection with Mother Earth. Think of it like a long cord that connects to the bottom of your spine, around the tailbone, and stretches to the center of the earth, where it makes a connection. Have it be as big around as your hips all the way down and hollow, and you can imagine you’re sitting in the top of it. If you’re not very visual don’t worry about it, energy follows your intent so just trust. Imagine there’s suction holding that cord to the base of your spine and also to the center of the earth. That can make it feel more real.
Now, just breathe for a few moments and let that cord do its thing, which is to release energy that you don’t need anymore. Trust me, people, it’s happening!
Next we’re going to create a big bubble a couple of feet in front of you. Make it the size of a beach ball and give it its own cord, as if it too is a person sitting on top of a long hollow tube. Now the bubble is connected to the earth, just like you, and it can release any energy it no longer needs. I’ll talk about that more in a minute.
Here’s the next step, and the fun one: what do you want to create? We’re going to start out small, so put away your heart’s greatest desire; it isn’t going anywhere and, in the meantime, we’re just going to play with creating and see what happens.
Let’s say you want to manifest some extra cash. Money is fun to play with because it’s something everybody knows. You might mock up that some unexpected money comes into your life. If that doesn’t grab you, you could mock up a warm encounter with a stranger. It could be that someone brings you great news that you’re not expecting, or that you’re being treated to a nice dinner.
Let’s go with the unexpected money for now: put that in the bubble. It can be in the form of a picture, a feeling, or you can put in the actual words: unexpected money is coming to me now. Then you get to fill in the details. What do you want that unexpected money to look like? Well, you might want it to be more than $1.00, so you can put that in the bubble, but remember that we’re just playing right now, so maybe don’t start with $2 million. You might put in that it’s coming to you in a fun and surprising way!
When I’m creating a mock-up, I like to think about what could go wrong. For example, you wouldn’t want money to come to you because you got in an accident. In theory, “fun and surprising” covers that, but I’d probably go ahead and add to the bubble that the money comes to me in a harmless way. You don’t want to wait until 2026 when you will surely have forgotten all about it, so how about adding “by Friday”?
Because this is small and just for fun, there’s not a lot more that needs to go into your mock up. But one thing to note is that you don’t have to know how it will come to you. The Universe will figure that out! In a sense you’re making magic, so let that part go. If you think about it, putting in the how is pretty limiting. It reminds me of the fable about the person drowning at sea who calls out to God to help him. Various interesting forms of support show up and he turns them all down because they’re not his vision of how the help ought to appear. Consequently and somewhat humorously, he drowns.
A friend of mine mocked up a free car because she didn’t have any money. I think it’s valid to say she was skeptical. Shortly thereafter a co-worker came into work and announced that her husband had a car to give to someone in need. She drove that free car for many years.
I mocked up “extra money” at one point and within the week, twice, I found money in the street and then money in a coat pocket from a previous year. It was a total of about $32 but the point was made.
The first time I ever mocked up unexpected money, we got a refund check of $50 from our car insurance company. That was a long time ago and the money was a huge help to us.
When the bubble is holding all the pertinent information that you think you need, always put in the words this or something better, or something to that effect. You’re asking the universe to bring you the thing that would be even more satisfying, that you’re not yet aware of. In the bubble, see yourself excited and surprised as you receive your mock-up; see your joy at knowing that you can create. Also add some permission and some ease.
Permission is just that! Sometimes we wish for something and wish for something but it never appears, and that can be because we can’t give ourselves permission to be abundant, creative or even worthy – the list goes on. It’s very common to hold ourselves back from our dreams and desires; often we have been taught by the people we love not to expect much out of life. They’re not trying to hurt us, it’s because they don’t have permission, either.
Now that you have this beautiful bubble full of your intent for yourself, ask the bubble to release down the cord, any energy that doesn’t resonate with this beautiful vibration you have created for yourself. Let the bubble release judgement that you aren’t worthy, that you can’t create magic, that life isn’t easy and so on. Let that stuff go, it isn’t yours and it isn’t true. Release any energy that says, you can’t just put stuff in bubbles and make them real! Let any lower energies go, even if you don’t know what they are.
Okay, now you have this beautiful mock-up with all its excitement and potential and it’s ready to go! Ask for a blessing from the Universe. You can see that blessing like a gold line of energy going into the bubble, filling it up with your own golden life force and bringing your mock-up to life!
After that, you’re going to release the grounding cord on the bubble. Then, flatten it into the shape of a frisbee or a boomerang, and fling it off to the creative edge of the Universe. Once there, it will be fulfilled and returned to you as per your instructions. Do your best to give it to the Universe without further input. In effect you’ve just handed over your shopping list but, if you continue to dwell on the mock-up, you’re taking that list back mid-process and it’s going to take longer to fulfill.
All right, happy mocking up! Feel free to let us know how it goes. It’s one of my favorite tools, because mock-ups truly are magic, they work, and they remind us that to be human is to create. It may sound like an insignificant thing, but if you can easily mock-up a few extra dollars, what can you do when you’re facing a really big challenge? That’s what we’re working toward, mocking up the hard stuff.
As always, we are here to teach you energy tools. We’ve been doing it for almost 30 years and very little about the curriculum has changed, because it’s simple and it works. We are committed to spiritual growth and community, so come join us!
