Here we are, approaching the holidays and end of the year while living in a world many of us could not have imagined!
Not only have we changed the way we work, educate our children and do weddings and funerals…now we are about to change how we celebrate the holidays. Nothing we have held as sacred has been spared. So, breathing and re-envisioning the world is something we are all doing, moment by moment.
Take a deep breath, sit comfortably, and close your eyes. Ground your body by making an energy connection from the base of your spine to the center of the earth. Turn your attention and energy inward, and ask yourself: How can I create a new way of connecting with my family and friends this holiday season? What are the most important things that resonate with me for the holidays? Talking on the phone, doing family Zoom calls or visiting through nursing home windows can be great starts. Are they perfect or what we are used to? No. But they are a way to connect.
Love is the key ability we all want to share this season, so that each person feels that connection. Strengthening our core relationships and the love we have is much better than anything money can buy. Look locally for how you can help others as well. My stepmother is in a nursing home and we haven’t been able to visit her in person for seven months. Would any of the nursing homes near you like Christmas cards for residents who have no family? What an easy way to help make the holidays brighter for someone you don’t know!
This year may also be the time to take the money you would have spent on presents and donate it to a worthy cause — hurricane and wildfire victims, GoFundMe stories, Black Lives Matter funds, families who lost their loved ones to Covid or any other group that calls out to you. When we unite, we validate the true meaning of the holiday season.
So again, breathe and look inward for the insight and action that will make this holiday season one you will remember and cherish. I am sending love and blessings to all people around the world and to those who have returned to the spirit world as well. May you know you are loved and held in honor. Namaste.
