As spring unfolds in front of us, we notice more of our creative energies revving up and we are ready to explode into new projects. It’s fun to watch people buying seeds, starting plants indoors and mapping out the layout of this year’s garden. Creativity is one of the marks of an active spirit. God works through each of us, inspiring us to create in a myriad of ways.
As you go about your month, listen to the ideas that pop up in your daily meditations or walks. You may catch yourself painting a picture in your mind, watching as light filters through a plant, and imagine painting it! You may feel inspired to write a poem about the intensity of feelings that fill you as you witness the rebirth of spring foliage or baby cows playing in the meadows. You may find yourself bursting into song or wanting to dance; anything that makes you feel alive.
These yearnings are the beginning of the creative process. Listen to them and let them lead you. Turn off any negative voices telling you your ideas may be stupid, or no one will like them. Learn to fire the critical voice and let your creativity guide you. Be the flute and let God’s breath create the music, flowing through you into a symphony of sounds. Dreams come from the spiritual realm and are made manifest through our physical forms. When we listen and follow our creativity, it is like being spiritually guided to create.
Use the energy of spring to inspire your creativity and see what you feel drawn to discover inside yourself. Be right in the moment, present to the world and listen! Namaste. ❦
