For the last decade, every year has felt like the energy on the planet could not get any more intense. And then the next year rolls around! Things we thought were heavy back then seem like child’s play now. Each year brings the feeling of more urgency and frustration at trying to hold your truth and light amidst all the changes that feel out of control. So how do you keep your sanity and peace?
First, by learning how to get quiet and go deeply within yourself as you listen to your inner voice. Here is where your spirit connects with the Divine Source, the oneness of the world, love, whatever you want to call it. Here is our connection to everything and it’s a wonderful place to begin each day. When we start our day from a place of being full of inner peace, we carry that into the world around us.
Inner peace doesn’t mean you won’t get challenged or have a negative thought, react from fear or anger, but it means you are more apt to be compassionate and forgive yourself as you move forward. It gives you more compassion for others as you see yourself in their shoes. We have all been there — tired, frustrated with a challenge and just wanting it to end; so when we see it in another, that inner peace lets us choose patience vs judgement, compassion and kindness instead of matching their frustration.
That to me is the secret to standing more in compassion for yourself and others; drawing on the deep reserve of inner peace that connecting to Source or spirit every day brings to us. Going inward and reconnecting as often as you need to gives you the love and joy you can take freely into the world.
Life will always have its road bumps but you stop taking them so seriously when you are full of peace inside. It is easier to let things go and let people be. Easier to share and walk your path in a way that feels good down to your bones. Love your life and give permission to those around you to love theirs, even if it’s a totally different path than you would choose. Find the oneness that connects us instead of the differences. This way we celebrate life together. Namaste
