e've all lived to regret a choice we made as a young, carefree adult.  Only time and wisdom let us see the path we could have taken.  We can't undo the past, we can only take what we've learned from it and move forward.  Life experience has led us to this very moment.  Own the choices you've made, both the good and bad.  They each shaped you and allowed you to expand.  Have the blessings and wisdom of your life experience.

Don Miguel Ruiz's book, "The Voice of Knowledge," speaks to the inner chatter in our heads that keeps our outer self and inner self from being one. He says, "How many lies do you hear in your head? Who is judging, who is talking, who is the one with all the opinions? If you don't love, it is because that voice doesn't let you love. If you don't enjoy your life, it is because that voice doesn't let you enjoy it. Who is living our life? That voice in our head never stops judging. It judges whatever we do, whatever we don't do, whatever we feel, whatever everybody else does. And mostly it is all lies. The voice in our head doesn't belong to us. When we are born, we don't have that voice. That critical voice comes after we learn language, different points of view and judgment.

"The moment we separated from God, in the garden we started to search for God, to search for the love we believe we lost. We searched for justice, for beauty, for truth. We are still searching for the way we used to be, before the critical voice in the head began. Authentic, truthful, loving, and joyful. The truth is we are searching for our self."

When we stop feeding  and believing that critical voice, our minds become still. The chatter ceases and we experience inner peace. This is why most people meditate, to find that inner authentic self, to keep the wisdom knowledge brings, but release the critic. "When you love yourself unconditionally, you justify and explain everything through the eyes of love. Your attention is focused on love, not lies or mental chatter. Because you love yourself, it is easy to love everyone else. This is wisdom, simple common sense, and the goal of all the different traditions and religions around the world.

"Love is so simple, so easy and wonderful, but it begins with you. Every relationship improves when you love yourself and live with awareness of your love. Love and respect are what we should teach our children, but the only way to teach them love and respect is to love and respect ourselves. We can only give them what we have, not what we have not. The more love we have, the more love we can share and receive. To give to one another and receive from one another is the purpose of relationships. When we share time with someone, what is important is to communicate with feelings, not with words.  Once we experience love, we may not have the words to describe it, but to love is the greatest experience that any of us can have. To experience love is to experience God. It is heaven right here on earth.

"You start to live your authentic self, when the outside and the inside live as one. You create your life with integrity, with common sense and with love. Loving you carries over into everything." Just for this moment, feel the pleasure of being alive, the pleasure of feeling love. Namaste.
