What's a Pet Reading?

A nimals we read at Psychic Horizons usually arrive with plenty to say. We've talked with dogs, cats, horses, birds, rabbits, fish and even a spunky 46-year-old turtle who had stopped eating. His complaint was that his home had been moved to a new location, which his guardian quickly rectified. I find that animals are often easier to communicate with spirit-to-spirit than people because they are so forthright. Their authentic thoughts and feelings are usually revealed without pretense. A common response from a pet we read is something like, "Well, FINALLY."

During a pet reading and healing, we look at the animal's overall energy, a past life and the various aspects of the animal, such as their emotional, survival and communication areas. The most helpful information we receive often relates to the pet's agreements with their guardian(s). Many times agreements we make with our pets are for them to teach us what we have forgotten - simple things like love, respect and play. One dog, Milo, drove his guardians crazy with his goofiness. They were embarrassed by his seemingly idiotic behavior. His agreement with them, however, was "to lighten up and have a little fun here."

Readings can also focus on a specific issue. Hickory, a four-year-old rabbit, was not interacting well with his three feline housemates. He was a bit of a dictator and very serious about life. As he opened up in the reading, Hickory expressed his fear about being sent back to the Humane Society. In his mind, he was still "visiting" this family. So, why bother making friends with the cats? Once Hickory understood that he was home forever, he began to relax, play with the cats and even display a wry sense of humor.

Pets reveal quite unique personalities during readings. Maple was a three-year-old mixed breed dog who was a bit of a philosopher. Whenever I'd ask her a question, she'd answer it briefly and then ask me a question in an attempt to understand this odd species called people. She wanted to know, "Why do people keep the doors to their houses closed all the time so everyone has to ask to enter?" and "Why are dogs required to be on leashes?" and "Will you be coming to live with us?"

We schedule pet readings/healings at Psychic Horizons on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. Bring your pet or a photo. We also do long-distance readings/healings. Cost is $25, home visits are $50. You can also give a pet reading as a special gift for a friend.
