Ask yourself some basic questions about how you approach life. Do you find you blame others around you for what you are creating or do you take responsibility? Is it hard for you to forgive someone, or can you walk away and release miscommunications? Do you find yourself constantly in a crisis situation, or is there a spring in your step when you set off for the day? When you take the time to get to know yourself, you develop and lay the foundation for being present and honest with yourself. You are able to see what your strengths and weaknesses are and how to help yourself take your next steps. You see how your thoughts influence what you attract to yourself. Spirituality to me, is realizing you are a co-creator with the Source of all, and that you get to decide what and how you want your life to unfold. Not that we control every instance, but I do believe we draw to us circumstances that we create from our thoughts. Sometimes we create a certain kind of situation over and over again until we figure out a way to handle it that benefits us and works for the highest good of those around us, as well. I have a good friend, Alex, who has worked on money issues for several years. Alex had a basic mistrust of the world and had a hard time believing that you could ask for what you wanted and really attract it into your life. He believed that what he wanted to create was just a fantasy. Little by little Alex started to trust his own innate spiritual rights; to have what was his by Divine right, under the law of grace, to come to him now. He is beginning to teach art classes and paint for himself again, something he has wanted to do for years. He substitute teaches for other art instructors, and is working towards doing art full time. The more he trusts and opens himself to his own inner connection to the Source, the more opportunities open for him to do the work he loves and get paid for it. Alex is enjoying life more and approaching it with an open heart, sharing himself instead of holding his energy tight and resisting the world. His anger at not being able to make money doing what he loves has evaporated, and in its place is a new level of enthusiasm. His changes happened over several years as he opened and integrated his spirituality into his everyday life. He taught himself to change the way he thought about life and to use his daily meditations to attract the life experiences he wanted to him. If you are ready to take some positives steps to change your life, call the center and start by enrolling in a beginning six-week class. You, too, can turn your life around and live your dreams. -Rev. Mary Bell Nyman |
