T he newspaper is full everyday with the latest on world and local events that could affect us all on a drastic level, Usually I keep up with all of it. I like to read it and practice neutrality and send light to the world leaders and people in need. But lately, I have been diverted from the major concerns of the world. What could lead a psychic Sagittarian away from current events? A puppy.

I recommend a puppy for a shock on your lifestyle, something to alter your daily life and attention dramatically. (I could also recommend you have a baby, they have the same affect on a life, but perhaps the karma will be less if you take this article seriously and actually get a puppy!)

I've never chosen a puppy before, all my dogs have been rescued adults, already house trained and ready to hike and have grown-up adventures.

Our last dog, Sam, died in December (I wrote about him in February of last year) and I told Steve over and over how we didn't need to get a puppy, there are PLENTY of grown dogs out there.

But soon after our return from Hawaii, I saw a little dog face during a meditation. It was a male Corgi puppy. "I'm here," he said. "Come and get me." Since that day, it's been nonstop and the newspapers have been piling up, unread. Angus has been a great reminder of the joy and newness of life. We returned from the magic of Hawaii refreshed and clear, and the feeling has been continued by Angus and his amusement, love and exuberance. There's more to life than worry, fear, crime, and war. I have my attention on it, but it's easier to keep my space grounded and keep the world in perspective when you have things and people around you to love and appreciate. As Mary says in her article above, focus on the positive!

Sam, was a wonderful and healing Border Collie who I had for over 15 years. His last year of life, he required constant care and attention, as if he were a puppy again. One day, soon after Angus arrived, I looked at Sam's picture and wondered if he was shocked that we got a puppy after I said over and over that I wouldn't. Sam wasn't surprised. He communicated to me that the care we gave to him prepared us for the "puppy experience" and aren't we glad we didn't miss out!

I would say yes! Fortunately, I have a work schedule that allows me the time to give the puppy lots of daily care and attention. I don't suggest a puppy (or a baby) if you have to be away all day.

There are so many experiences that guide us to love and amusement in our lives, and so many ways to maintain that joy. Sometimes our animal friends enter out lives to remind us of these simple, wise truths.
