Trusting Yourself
n our lives we are taught to trust others above ourselves. We live in a
culture that says, "Father/Mother knows best." "Do as you are told." "Don't
argue." This "training" may have gotten us through certain times in our
lives, yet most of us still carry these ideas around and operate from them
every day in subtle or not so subtle ways. Most of us have been trained out
of asking ourselves what we need or want because we've been told others know
better than we do. Our commercials say we need a certain kind of car. Our
parents said we need to clean our plates. Our teachers said, "You need to
ask permission to go to the bathroom." We've been well trained. What we
teach here at the Psychic Horizons Center is how to clear out everyone
else's information, judgements, and opinions to make more room for you to be
who you are, as the bright soul that you are. So, let's start tuning back
into our own information again. We'll start by asking some simple questions.
Take a moment to relax and take a deep breath. Imagine you had a radio dial
to direct what your attention tunes into. Decide to tune yourself into WYOU
(yourself radio). First, say "Hello." Decide you are going to allow yourself
to explore and experiment. Ask yourself; "What is one thing you've been
needing, but haven't been giving to yourself? Trust the first answer you
receive. It's that easy. You may start to notice an internal dialogue, such
as "It can't be that easy!" "I have to think harder." "What if it's wrong?"
Just decide it can be as simple as asking and receiving your answer. You can
ask yourself any question you want, such as, "What's one thing you can do to
feel more spiritually fulfilled?" or even, "What's your favorite color?" Ask
any question and trust your answers. I started building this internal
communi-cation by asking my body what it wanted to eat for lunch. I did this
daily and I trusted what I heard internally. I decided I wasn't going to
order what I "should" get, but instead just trust the answer I received. I
was never disappointed. Then this communication with myself expanded into
other areas, and it is now how I live my life. The world can tell you many
things, but if you don't look inside of yourself to find if the information
resonates for you or not, you are missing out on the treasure of being
alive. You can use each decision you make as an opportunity to discover what
you need or want. This level of communication ultimately leads to you
fulfilling your soul purpose this lifetime.
