W hat do you really require to be happy each day? Take a moment to write your thoughts, you may be surprised at what you come up with - whether your list becomes detailed or turns out to be quite simple. On a good day, what happened to earn it that label?

On a good day, I feel nourished physically and spiritually. I take time to eat foods that make me feel good, and feel well rested. I take time to have some physical activity. Spiritually, I create time to meditate and validate Spirit - the eternal part of me. It may not need food and exercise like my body does, but it requires attention, too. Meditation is a way that I connect with God. It helps me direct my inner compass and make sure that what I am doing and being from moment to moment is in alignment with my truth. Am I attracting people and circumstances into my life that are in affinity with what I see as valuable? If not, this is the time to do some self healing and realign myself with my truth.

Another aspect of a good day includes time to be of service to someone - and this is done with joy because I feel good. It's hard to be a healer if you're not well! Also, on a good day I feel a connection to loved ones'knowing there is someone to get a hug from or share something with.

There is also laughter and fun - watching a squirrel - or just amusement at my own life and something I am learning about that is twisting me up into a pretzel! Singing birds, a good book, fun with pastels, meeting someone new or seeing a good play or group of musicians. Those are icing on the cake of a great day.

It's January, 2003. Begin to practice creating time for what is valuable to you and start the energy moving that will guide you into new areas of growth and awareness in the new year.

The holiday season was a great beginning to that process - there's a lot of permission to smile, go to parties, share time with family and friends, and have a little more festivity. There's also permission to contemplate what's of value to you and how to have it in daily life. When it's easy to give to yourself, it's easy to ask other important questions like can you give more to others? How can you help?

Now, more that ever, we all need to look at what is of value, and how to validate it and make it real in our lives. In your moments of introspection, notice what makes a great day for you. How often can you create that? If it's not every day, you're selling yourself short.

If you meditate and see what brings you joy but find yourself being pushed off your path to happiness, it's time to learn how to create what you choose. If you choose it for yourself, you choose it for all on the planet. To understand how having your power as a spirit helps in the creation of this process, try a class here at the center! It's fun, and you’ll make great days more often!
